Friday Fun Fest is a free after-school program every Friday for Loves Park Elementary students. For years, students from Loves Park have spent Friday afternoons with Grace volunteers learning valuable life skills in their “encounters.”

Encounter opportunities have included cooking, computer training, games, woodworking, gardening, knitting and many more!

We have so much fun and are always looking for new volunteers and encounters. If you have a passion or skill that can be shared, please let us know!

2017-2018 Encounters

“Crafts” – Our craft encounter is a great way to connect with your artistic side. Students will complete make-and-take projects throughout the session.

“Yarn Crafts” –  Children have a chance to put a needle and thread to work while learning this timeless craft.

“Woodworking” – Saws, sanding and assembly… They’ve got it all! Year after year, kids have enjoyed building projects in this group. Past projects have included planes, trains and Jeeps!

“Computers” – What can we say? Who doesn’t love technology? This encounter kids can learn basic computer skills while they play in our computer lab. *Limited Space. This encounter typically fills quickly.*

“Enrich” – Enrich is a chance for kids to enjoy some quiet time… reading books, help with homework, creative writing… All sorts of activities to keep our kids succeeding!

“Soap Carving” – Soap carving provides kids the opportunity to work with tools while sculpting a piece of art. This is a new encounter this year and we expect it to become a quick favorite.
